Questions shops ask

What do I need at the counter?
A computer or tablet with an up-to-date web browser. tcgpos runs in the browser, so there's nothing to install. Add a card reader from one of the processors below and, if you like, a barcode scanner and a USB receipt printer (ESC/POS) with the cash drawer plugged into it. Printing straight to the receipt printer uses WebUSB, so it needs Chrome or Edge.
Which card processors can I use?
At the register: Stripe Terminal, Square Terminal, and PAX and Dejavoo terminals through NMI, with more coming soon. On your store page: PayPal, Stripe, Square or Authorize.net. You connect your own account with the processor and pay its fees directly. tcgpos doesn't add a fee to your card payments.
What happens if the internet drops?
The register keeps opening, and cash sales (and card sales on a standalone terminal) are kept on the device with a provisional receipt, then sent up when the connection comes back. Anything that needs the connection (a card charged through your processor, store credit, gift cards) says so instead of failing halfway.
Can I bring my inventory over?
Yes, on Pro: import from a spreadsheet, or from exports of TCGplayer, ManaBox, Dragon Shield Card Manager, Archidekt, Moxfield, Deckbox or Collectr, and match the cards to the card catalog for market prices.
How does billing work?
Each plan has a monthly price, shown above in US dollars, and you pay through PayPal when you choose it; outside the US, PayPal converts it to your currency. Moving up to a bigger plan is paid and takes effect at once; moving down is free and immediate. The refund and cancellation policy has the details.
Can shops outside the US use tcgpos?
Yes, including shops in the United Kingdom. When you first sign in, you choose your store's country and tcgpos sets itself up for it. For a UK shop that means prices in pounds (or euros), VAT included in prices with VAT receipts and a VAT report, UK date formats, a cookie consent bar on your store page, a returns page that sets out the 14-day cancellation right, and a way to erase a customer's personal data. Card catalog prices are converted from US market prices at the European Central Bank's daily rate. Our Data Processing Agreement covers UK GDPR. For card payments, connect a processor that works in your country.
Can I try it first?
Yes. A 14-day free trial includes every Pro feature, no card needed. Start it here and your shop is set up straight away. When the trial ends, choose a plan to keep going; nothing is charged unless you do.
Who owns my shop's data?
You do. Every shop has its own database. Export your sales, inventory and customers whenever you like on Pro, and if you leave, we'll hand you a full export of your shop.
I bought something from a shop that uses tcgpos. Who do I contact?
The shop itself. It sells to you, takes your payment through its own payment provider, and handles your order, returns and refunds. Its contact details are on its store page.
